Malleable Iron

Malleable iron is a class of cast iron which has been treated to become an iron-carbon alloy. This means it has high strength properties but maintains a high level of ductility i.e. it can flex without breaking, and is ideal for the transportation of water, air, gas, oil, steam, and other non-aggressive media.

Applications of use for malleable iron pipe fittings include: in the construction of machinery, petrol stations and industrial plants, air conditioning and cooling systems, and sprinkler and gas fire extinguishing systems.

Unlike other metals, malleable iron maintains its shape under temperature changes.

Pipestock supply the largest array of malleable iron pipe fittings on the web, with ranges from Georg Fischer, EE, Crane, and K-Line.
