ABS Flanges Inch
Our ABS flanges (inch) provide a robust, WRAS-approved solution for creating strong, reliable connections within ABS pipework systems. Manufactured from Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), these flanges combine excellent mechanical strength with outstanding chemical and corrosion resistance, making them ideal for long-term use in water treatment, industrial plumbing and process applications.
All ABS flanges supplied by Pipestock are WRAS approved and type-tested to ensure full compliance, safety and consistency across every installation.
Key Features & Benefits
- WRAS approved for potable water applications
- Creates extremely secure, leak-free flange joints
- Made from non-toxic, durable ABS plastic
- Excellent resistance to corrosion, impact and chemicals
- Available in a wide range of imperial sizes
- Suitable for integrating valves, meters and other pipe equipment
ABS flanges are most commonly used to join pipe lengths together, but they are equally effective for connecting equipment such as valves, pumps and water meters into a system. For a deeper technical breakdown of ABS material properties, you can refer to our dedicated ABS information page.
Don’t forget: You’ll also need gaskets, backing rings and bolt sets to complete your flange assembly.
Types of ABS Flanges Explained
Understanding the differences between the various flange types ensures you select the correct option for your system:
Stub Flanges
Stub flanges consist of a short ABS collar that is solvent welded directly onto the pipe. A separate galvanised backing ring sits behind the stub and provides the clamping force when bolted.
- Cost-effective solution
- Easy alignment during installation
- Commonly used in industrial and water treatment systems
Full Face Flanges – BS EN 1029-1
These are one-piece moulded flanges drilled to BS EN 1029-1.
- Ideal for PN10/PN16 aligned systems
- Clean, rigid and compact installation
Full Face Flanges – BS 10 Table D & E
Manufactured to match the older BS 10:1962 Table D and E drilling patterns, these flanges are typically used when connecting into existing legacy pipework systems.
- Perfect for refurbishment and system extensions
- Ensures compatibility with older steel flange drillings
Blanking Flanges – BS EN 1029-1
Blanking flanges (also known as blind flanges) are used to seal off the end of a pipeline or unused connection.
- Permanent or temporary isolation
- Ideal for pressure testing, maintenance and future expansions
