Installation Overview
- Preparation: Lightly abrade the pipe and fitting surfaces using emery cloth
- Cleaning: Wipe with MEK Cleaner to remove contaminants
- Jointing: Apply ABS solvent cement evenly, insert the pipe fully into the fitting, and hold in place briefly
- Curing: Allow adequate cure time based on ambient temperature before pressure testing
- Support: Install pipe brackets at recommended intervals; provide independent supports for valves and heavy fittings
- Thermal Considerations: Account for expansion and contraction, especially in chilled water or outdoor installations
