  • Pressure ratings from low pressure up to high-pressure hydraulic and chemical transfer
  • Temperature tolerance from sub-zero to high-heat applications
  • Hose materials include PVC, rubber, polyurethane, nitrile, and composite designs
  • Reinforced constructions available: textile braid, steel wire, or composite layering
  • Conforming to industry standards such as ISO, BS, and EN specifications

How to Choose the Correct Hose for the Job

Selecting the right hose is crucial for safety, performance and longevity. To ensure your hose suits your specific application, consider the following key factors:

Medium Compatibility (What will pass through the hose?)

  • Identify the fluid, gas, or solid being conveyed - whether it’s water, oil, fuel, air, chemicals or food products
  • Check for chemical resistance and ensure materials such as PVC, rubber, or XLPE are suitable for the substance

Pressure Rating (What pressure will it operate under?)

  • Always match the hose’s maximum working pressure to your system requirements
  • Include a safety margin (typically 20–25%) above normal operating pressure

Temperature Range (Hot, cold, or fluctuating conditions?)

  • Ensure the hose material is rated for both minimum and maximum operating temperatures
  • For example, PVC hoses are ideal for cold and ambient use, while rubber or nitrile hoses suit high-temperature or oil-based applications

Application & Environment

  • Consider where the hose will be used - static installations, mobile equipment, or outdoor use
  • Environmental conditions such as UV exposure, abrasion, static build-up, or food hygiene standards should influence your selection

Hose Flexibility & Weight

  • For frequent handling, select lightweight or layflat hoses for easy deployment and storage
  • For fixed installations, wire-reinforced or heavy-duty suction hoses provide structural strength

Regulatory Compliance

  • Where required, choose hoses that meet WRAS, FDA, or ATEX approvals for potable water, food-grade, or anti-static environments

Our Range of Hoses

PVC Braided Hose

Flexible, lightweight multipurpose hose with polyester braid reinforcement for added burst strength. Typically suitable for air and water at low-medium pressure, clear for visual flow, good kink resistance, and excellent handling. Usual temperature range around -20°C to +65°C depending on spec.

Delivery & Suction Hose

Robust PVC or rubber hose with a steel wire or rigid PVC helix to withstand vacuum and positive pressure. Designed for pumping, tankering and drainage; good crush and abrasion resistance; smooth bore for efficient flow. Typical temperature range -20/10°C to +60/70°C.

Layflat Hose

Collapsible discharge hose in reinforced PVC for high-volume water transfer. Lightweight and easy to store, with good abrasion and weather resistance; best for temporary lines and dewatering. Generally medium pressure with ranges of 4.5 bar for the blue version and 6 bar for the yellow hose.

Lightweight Hose

General-purpose, easy-handling PVC hose prioritising low mass and flexibility. Suitable for low pressure air/water service, portable equipment and light washdown. Good kink resistance and manoeuvrability; typical temperature window -15°C to +60°C.

Clear Wire Reinforced Hose

Transparent PVC hose with embedded steel wire helix for combined suction and delivery duties. Visual flow inspection, smooth bore, good flexibility, and moderate vacuum capability. Suitable for water and compatible liquids; typical operating range -15°C to +65°C.

Hi-Vis Hose

Highly visible, fluorescent yellow reinforced PVC hose for safety-critical sites. Good abrasion/kink resistance, easy to locate in low-light or busy areas. Suitable for air/water lines at low–medium pressure; temperatures commonly -20°C to +80°C.

Fire Hose & Fittings

Flat hose with textile reinforcement and rubber liner for rapid deployment and high flow. Typically paired with BS-pattern couplings and nozzles; abrasion-resistant jacket, good UV/ozone resistance. Rated for higher pressures than standard layflat; suitable for hydrants and emergency washdown.

Anti-Static Hose

Conductive or static-dissipative construction (electrically conductive rubber) to safely transfer flammable liquids, vapours or powders. Reinforced for suction/delivery, with resistance values suitable for ATEX-sensitive areas.

Contractors Hose

Heavy-duty site hose (PVC) with tough outer cover for abrasion, crush and weather resistance. Handles air/water at medium pressures; reinforced for durability; suitable for plant, quarrying and civil works. Broad temperature tolerance for year-round use.

Fuel Hose

NBR, PVC with textile/wire reinforcement, Oil resistant or electronically bonded rubber inner tube for diesel, petrol and oils. Oil and fuel-resistant, low permeation, and flexible in service; typical temperature range about -20°C to +80°C (spec-dependent). Ensure correct fittings and earthing where required.

Superior Rubber Alloy Hose

Premium multi-layer rubber construction delivering high flexibility, excellent abrasion/ozone resistance and long service life. Suited to demanding industrial air/water lines and compressor feeds; stable performance across wider temperature and pressure ranges than standard rubber/PVC.

XLPE Chemical Hose

Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) liner provides broad chemical resistance to many acids, alkalis and solvents. Includes high tensile cord, steel wire helix, antistatic wire and robust cover; suitable for transfer and loading applications.

Washdown Hose

Durable hose for cleaning stations and pressure-wash applications; available in 1-wire/2-wire steel braid or reinforced rubber. Handles cold or hot water (model-dependent), good kink/abrasion resistance, and wide pressure options from standard washdown to high-pressure jet-wash.
