Tube Assemblies

Our tube assemblies are pre-fabricated combinations of tubing and fittings, ready to install in pneumatic, fluid, hydraulic or general industrial systems. We supply both nylon and polyurethane recoil tubing with a variety of tail styles and configurations to suit a wide range of applications.

Choosing a fully assembled version saves you design time, ensures consistent quality, minimizes leak risk, and accelerates installation. Below is an overview of the options we offer and where each one performs best.

Key Advantages of Tube Assemblies

  • Time & labour saving: Delivered ready to fit (no on-site cutting, fitting or flaring)
  • Quality & consistency: Factory assembly ensures reliable sealing
  • Compact routing: Recoil tubing allows curved, tight paths with minimal stress
  • Reduced leak points: Fewer joins mean fewer potential failure points
  • Flexibility in layout: Multiple tail styles, lengths and angles allow adaptation to complex systems

Matching Assemblies to Applications

  • Pneumatic / compressed air systems
Recoil nylon assemblies are very common in pneumatic control systems, air lines, tool feeds and actuators. Their flexibility, resilience, and ease of installation make them ideal for control panels, robot arms or moving parts.
  • Hydraulic or lubrication circuits (low to medium pressure)
Some systems benefit from polyurethane or braided tubes that can handle pressure surges or abrasive particles in fluid. Use flexi-braid or reinforced polyurethane where extra mechanical strength or chemical resistance is needed.
  • Welding / fabrication environments
In areas close to welding, plasma cutting or burning operations, the anti-spatter polyurethane tubing provides extra protection against damage from sparks or heat.
  • Compact / tight routing applications
Use 90° tail or unequal tail assemblies to navigate around corners, frame members or crowded machinery. The recoil design allows curved pathways without kinking.
  • Custom / asymmetric layouts
When your inlet and outlet ports do not align evenly, the unequal tail assemblies help you maintain a clean route without excess slack or awkward bends.

Recoil Nylon Tube Assemblies - Unequal Tails

Benefits

  • Allows for one tail to be longer than the other, giving you flexibility when ports are spaced unevenly or one side has limited clearance.
  • Keeps tubing compact and prevents excess slack while still enabling reach where needed.
  • The recoil nature helps avoid kinking and tangling, so the line retracts neatly.

Typical Use Cases

  • Machinery or equipment where the inlet and outlet ports are not symmetrically aligned.
  • Retrofitting or upgrades where existing port positions can't be moved.
  • Installations where one side has more room for routing than the other - use the longer side to get around obstacles.

Flexi-Braid Polyurethane Recoil Tube Assemblies

Benefits

  • Braided reinforcement enhances strength, making the tubing more resistant to abrasion, wear and mechanical stress.
  • The polyurethane base provides good flexibility even under vibration or movement.
  • Better suited to environments where the tube may rub against surfaces, get bumped or flex repeatedly.

Typical Use Cases

  • Pneumatic lines in dynamic or vibrating machinery (e.g. robotic arms, packaging lines).
  • Applications where the tubing runs close to moving parts or surfaces and may experience friction or contact.
  • Systems under moderate mechanical stress or requiring a more robust line than plain nylon.

Polyurethane Anti-Spatter Recoil Tube Assemblies

Benefits

  • Specially formulated to resist welding spatter, sparks, heat and thermal damage.
  • Maintains structural integrity in harsh, hot or spark-prone environments.
  • Prolonged service life in challenging settings compared to standard tubing in those zones.

Typical Use Cases

  • Around welding cells, metal fabrication stations, plasma cutting areas or near cutting torches.
  • As protective lines in workshops or industrial areas where stray sparks or molten particles might hit tubing.
  • In installations where parts of the tubing run near heat or potential ignition sources.

Kelm Blue Nylon Recoil Tube Assembly

Benefits

  • Kelm’s nylon coiled tubing provides excellent “memory” - the ability to retract cleanly and avoid tangles.
  • Nylon offers good chemical resistance, moderate temperature range, and generally good durability for industrial air or fluid lines.
  • The blue colour helps with visual identification or colour-coding within systems.
  • Smooth internal bore reduces flow resistance and pressure drop.

Typical Use Cases

  • General pneumatic lines in machine control, workshop air supply, compressed air tools.
  • Applications needing neat, compact routing with aesthetic or organisational colour-coding.
  • Use in systems requiring moderate chemical resistance, or where lines may be visible or need identification.
  • Anywhere a reliable, flexible, clean coil tubing solution is wanted, particularly in “housekeeping” areas of pneumatic systems.
