Copely HDPE Spiral Wrap
Heavy-duty polyethylene spiral wrap for hydraulic and pneumatic hose protection.
The HDPE Spiral Wrap is a tough, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) protective spiral wrap engineered to safeguard hydraulic, pneumatic, and chemical hose assemblies from wear, crushing, and external damage. Lightweight yet durable, it offers a simple, tool-free method of protection that can be easily applied to both individual hoses and bundles of lines.
Manufactured with smooth, rounded edges, this spiral wrap eliminates sharp surfaces that could abrade hoses during installation or use. Its excellent resistance to shock, abrasion, and chemical attack ensures long-term reliability in demanding industrial and outdoor environments. The material is suitable for temperatures from –40°C to +138°C, maintaining flexibility even in extreme conditions, and is compatible with hydraulic fluids including glycol and phosphate-based products.

Installing Spiral Wrap on an Un-Installed (Loose) Hose
Installing spiral wrap is quickest when the hose is not yet fitted into a system. You can rotate the hose freely, move it around easily, and work from one end without obstruction.
Step 1 – Unspool the Spiral Wrap
Unwind a length of spiral wrap slightly longer than your hose section
Let it relax to reduce tension and make it easier to work with
Step 2 – Start at One End
Hold the hose in one hand and the free end of the spiral wrap in the other
Slightly twist the spiral wrap to open a gap large enough to slip over the hose diameter
Step 3 – Slide the First Coil Onto the Hose
Place the expanded opening directly against the hose and push the first coil onto it
Once the first turn is on, the rest will follow more easily
Step 4 – Spiral Along the Hose
Begin twisting the wrap as you move along the hose, wrapping coil after coil
Work away from the spool, keeping the wrap tight and evenly spaced
Step 5 – Finish and Trim
When you reach the end, ensure the coils are neat and evenly spaced
Trim any excess wrap with sharp cutters for a clean finish
Installing Spiral Wrap on a Pre-Installed Hose (With Fittings Already Attached)
Spiral wrap is designed to be installed even when the hose is already connected - fittings are not a problem. The wrap naturally expands as you work it over the hose and fittings.
Step 1 – Access the Hose
Identify the section of hose you want to protect
Clear enough space to rotate the hose slightly, if possible
Step 2 – Expand the Spiral Wrap
Hold the free end and twist the wrap to open up a few coils
Spiral wrap is engineered to expand significantly, allowing it to pass over fittings, couplings, and connectors
Step 3 – Slip the Wrap Over the Hose
Place the expanded section onto the hose near the fitting
Once the first coil is on, the rest follows much more easily
Step 4 – Spiral Along the Hose
Twist the wrap around the hose a few coils at a time
Ideal if the hose can be rotated freely
Step 5 – Stretch for Final Positioning
If you’re close to the end but need a little extra clearance, you can gently stretch the wrap to create space
This makes it easier to slip the last section of wrap into position
Step 6 – Settle and Straighten
Once the full length is wrapped, slide and adjust the coils to ensure even coverage
Check that no sections are bunched, twisted, or left unprotected
