Who are Walraven?

Walraven is a family-owned international specialist in mechanical & electrical (M&E) installation fixings, rail/channel systems, and passive fire protection products. Founded in 1942, the company emphasises “simple yet smart solutions” in the installation world.

As a manufacturer, Walraven retains control of the full value chain, from concept through manufacturing, logistics and customer service. Enabling innovation, quality and flexibility. Their UK branch operates from Banbury, Oxfordshire.

Walraven holds ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental) and ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) certifications and offers robust technical support, BIM files, design services and a wide distribution network. Sustainability features prominently, as the firm aims to become a zero-emissions company, uses 100 % renewable energy, optimises resource usage, and publishes Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).

What do Walraven manufacture?

Walraven’s product portfolio can be summarised broadly into three main solution areas:

  • Fixing Systems: Rails and channel systems, brackets, clamps and accessories for mechanical and electrical installations.
  • Fire Protection Systems: Passive fire protection components, fire-rated fixings and systems to preserve escape routes.
  • Sanitary Systems: Frames and fixings for sanitary ware, such as wall-hung toilets and washbasins.

Within the Fixing Systems category, you'll find products such as:

Rapid Sliding Wall Bracket

The RSWB (Rapid Sliding Wall Bracket) is an extendable bracket designed for faster mounting of electrical boxes, conduit and pipe-work between stud walls, floor joists or to both wood and metal joists. In systems installation (especially in retrofit, refurbishment, or stud‐wall M&E zones), the time, cost, and complexity of mounting electrical boxes, pipes, or conduit between studs/floor joists can be significant. The RSWB offers many benefits:

  • Simplifies mounting in variable depths (joists or stud cavities) by allowing the bracket to “slide” to fit the span.
  • Reduces the number of components (rather than multiple brackets/back-plates) and thus reduces installation and stock complexity.
  • When combined with starQuick or Hammerfix style “ready-to-use” accessories, it reduces loose parts and speeds installation.

Manufactured in Britain from durable galvanised steel, it combines strength, lightness, and precision to deliver exceptional reliability on site. The design allows fixing from either side, offering complete flexibility during installation.

RapidRail

Walraven RapidRail is a precision-engineered lightweight channel system designed to streamline the support of pipework, cable trays and ductwork. Using less steel than the traditional 41×41mm strut channel, RapidRail offers significant labour and material savings. Its pre-assembled accessories enable Installers to ‘insert, lock, done’, reducing installation time by up to 40%. Available in 2m, with full BIM support and sustainability credentials (EPD certified).

  • Lightweight Profile: RapidRail uses substantially less steel per metre than conventional strut, saving approximately 1.9 kg per metre relative to 41×41 channel.
  • Smart Hole Pattern: RapidRail has 8.5 mm drill holes and a pattern that allows accessories to be fixed from both sides of the rail.
  • Pre-assembled Accessories: Such as Slide Nuts, Hammerfix and Ball Swivel Hangers that significantly reduce installation time (saving up to 40%).
  • Sustainable Credentials: RapidRail uses less material and has EPD documents available. It is manufactured in-house and tested/approved.
  • Roll Formed Profile: Profiles are roll-formed for minimal “trumpet effect” (expansion of profile ends when cut).

Because it is lighter and easier to cut, handle, and install, the system is particularly advantageous for overhead work, retrofit applications, and environments where labour or access is constrained.

RapidRail Accessories

Within the RapidRail system, there is a wide range of pre-assembled accessories that insert and lock straight into the rail.

  • Slide Nuts: A slide nut with an M8 or M10 thread, ready for threading once installed.
  • Hammerfix: The Hammerfix is a slide nut with a pre-cut stud bolt, ready for attachment of threaded fittings, significantly reducing installation time.
  • Swivel Ball Hangers: Available in M8 and M10 options, this swivel hanger offers 20° of lateral movement for the fixture being hung.
  • End Caps: Green polyethylene cap designed to provide a professional and safe finish, neatly closing the open ends of Walraven RapidRail fixing rails, covering any burrs created from cutting.
  • Connectors: Available in many configurations (Straight, 90°, 135°, Cross, X and T connectors) to aid installation and specification.

RapidRail accessories are exceptionally easy to install. Simply insert the fitting into the rail profile, twist it to lock it in place, slide it to the desired position, and tighten to achieve a strong, secure mounting solution.
