• Cut and Prepare: Cut the pipe square using a pipe saw or wheel cutter. Chamfer the pipe end (~3mm x 45°) to ensure smooth jointing.
• Mark and Abrade: Mark the pipe to indicate full insertion depth. Abrade the pipe end and fitting socket using emery cloth – do not over-abrade.
• Clean: Use a lint-free cloth moistened with MEK Cleaner to degrease both surfaces. Allow to dry before applying cement.
• Apply Solvent Cement: Stir cement, then apply evenly to both pipe and fitting using a clean, correctly sized brush. Assemble immediately while surfaces are wet.
• Assemble and Hold: Push the pipe fully into the fitting (do not twist) and hold for up to 1 minute, depending on size. A small external bead of cement should form at the joint.
• Cure and Test: Wipe off excess cement and allow to cure for 24 hours before pressure testing. Pressure test at 1.5 times the system's rated pressure.
• Ventilation and Safety: Always work in a well-ventilated area. Avoid joining in damp or frosty conditions.
• Do not use sealing pastes or interchange cement types.
