Acetal

This range of barbed hose fittings is manufactured from white acetal (POM) - a high-performance thermoplastic known for its excellent strength, rigidity and low friction properties. Each fitting is precisely engineered to offer reliable hose connection for a variety of applications in demanding environments.

Our acetal barbed fittings are available in a broad range of bore sizes from 3 mm up to 25 mm, making them suitable for small, precision tubing through to larger process lines.

• Mechanical strength + stiffness: Acetal exhibits high dimensional stability under load, making it resistant to creep and deformation under pressure (especially in liquid conveyance).
• Low friction / sliding performance: The smooth surface and low coefficient of friction reduce wear and frictional losses, helping maintain fluid flow efficiency.
• Good chemical resistance: Acetal POM is compatible with many aqueous solutions, mild acids/alkalis, and common solvents, making it suitable for a wide array of fluid systems.
• Food and pharmaceutical suitability: Due to its purity, inertness and ability to meet relevant compliance standards (when supplied accordingly), it is often used in food processing, beverage, laboratory, and pharma systems.
• Marine / plumbing compatibility: The corrosion-resistant nature of acetal makes it a good choice in marine plumbing and fresh / salt water service applications.
