Zinc Plated Steel

Zinc-Plated Steel Barbed Hose Fittings

Our zinc-plated steel barbed fittings combine the strength of steel with corrosion resistance, making them ideal for a wide range of fluid transfer systems. These fittings are precision engineered to deliver secure, leak-resistant connections in demanding environments.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Robust Construction: Made from high-quality steel and coated with a layer of zinc, these fittings offer excellent mechanical strength and resistance to abrasion and impact.
  • Corrosion Protection: The zinc plating acts as a sacrificial coating, helping to protect the underlying steel from rust and oxidation in harsh or humid environments.
  • Reliable Barbed Design: The barbs are designed to grip the hose securely, reducing the risk of slippage under pressure or vibration.
  • Versatile Compatibility: Available in a range of sizes and configurations - straight, elbows, tees, and more - to suit different hose diameters and routing needs.
  • Wide Application Range: Suitable for use in pneumatic, hydraulic, water, air, and low-pressure fluid systems in sectors such as automotive, industrial, agriculture, and water treatment.

Typical Use Cases

  • Connecting flexible hoses in compressed air systems
  • Fuel or lubricant delivery lines in light machinery
  • Agricultural spray or irrigation setups
  • General workshop and industrial fluid transfer

Installation Tips

  • Always match the correct barb size to your hose inner diameter for a snug fit.
  • Use clamps to ensure positive sealing and prevent hose pull-off.
  • Avoid over-tightening which could deform hoses or fittings.
  • Inspect periodically for signs of wear or corrosion, especially in outdoor or damp environments.

Is Zinc Plating Rust-Proof?

Zinc plating is not completely rust-proof, but it provides a strong protective barrier against corrosion. The thin zinc coating acts as a sacrificial layer, corroding before the underlying steel does. This significantly extends the life of the fitting, especially in dry or mildly damp environments. However, in constantly wet or highly corrosive conditions, such as marine or chemical settings, stainless steel fittings are generally recommended for longer-term protection.
