The Vulcathene Clay Trap is a high-capacity interception unit designed to capture heavy solids such as clay, sediment, and dense particulate matter before they can enter downstream chemical waste pipework.

With a generous holding capacity of up to 20 litres, this trap is well suited to laboratory, educational, and industrial environments where sinks or processes discharge solids that require containment and controlled removal. Inlet and outlet connections are positioned at opposite ends of the unit, helping to promote settlement of solids within the chamber while maintaining effective flow.

The outlet incorporates a 76mm liquid seal to prevent odours and backflow, while the large removable lid allows full access to the chamber for inspection and cleaning. A sealing ring ensures a secure closure, with the lid retained by fourteen wing nuts to provide even compression and a dependable seal during operation.

Manufactured from chemically resistant co-polymer polypropylene, the clay trap is designed to withstand aggressive waste streams and repeated maintenance cycles, making it a robust solution for long-term use in demanding chemical drainage installations.
