Description
The Vulcathene Dilution Recovery Trap with Glass Base is a high-capacity anti-siphonic trap designed for laboratory waste systems where monitoring, recovery, and safe handling of solids is essential. Suitable for use with 38mm Vulcathene pipework, this trap combines robust chemical resistance with enhanced visibility for inspection and maintenance.
Featuring a clear, heat-resistant borosilicate glass base, the trap allows operators to visually assess the build-up of solids without dismantling the system. This makes it particularly well suited to installations handling large quantities of particulate waste or where the recovery of valuable solids is required. The transparent chamber enables early intervention, helping prevent blockages and potential damage to downstream pipework.
The trap offers a total holding capacity of up to 2.3 litres and incorporates a 76mm liquid seal to provide reliable anti-siphonic performance. For maintenance, the glass dilution chamber can be unscrewed complete with its flange assembly, allowing safe and controlled emptying.
A 1½" BSP inlet with loose nut coupling enables straightforward connection to waste outlets or drip cup tails. The unit is supplied with a nut and olive for ‘P’ trap installation on 38mm pipe and can be converted to an ‘S’ trap configuration by adding a compatible 38mm bend.
To ensure long-term reliability, the trap should be adequately supported during installation. The underside of the unit must be supported at least 76mm above floor level to prevent excessive weight loading on pipework and connections.
