Description

This polypropylene 90° bend is designed to change the direction of flow in metric PP pipe systems using a longer, sweeping radius than a standard elbow. Manufactured from high heat stabilised PP-B material, it is intended for pressure-rated installations where flow efficiency and reduced stress are important considerations.

The extended bend radius helps to guide fluids smoothly around the corner, minimising turbulence and reducing pressure loss compared to tighter directional fittings. When fusion welded, the bend forms a continuous, homogeneous joint that provides excellent strength, leak resistance and chemical compatibility.

Polypropylene’s resistance to corrosion, scaling and chemical attack makes this fitting particularly suitable for aggressive industrial environments. Its ductile nature also allows it to absorb thermal expansion and minor movement within the system, supporting long-term reliability in both exposed and concealed installations.

Key Features & Benefits

  • 10 bar pressure rating: Suitable for pressure-rated polypropylene pipe systems
  • Long radius design: Provides a smoother 90° directional change with reduced flow disruption
  • PP-B material: Block copolymer construction improves impact resistance, especially at lower temperatures
  • Wide temperature capability: Performs reliably from -20°C up to 120°C under continuous operation
  • Fusion welded connection: Creates a strong, permanent joint with excellent chemical resistance
  • Smooth bore interior: Helps maintain flow efficiency and minimise pressure losses
  • Corrosion resistant: Will not rust, scale or degrade when exposed to aggressive media
  • Lightweight construction: Easier to handle and install than metal alternatives
  • Industrial suitability: Commonly used in chemical processing, water treatment, laboratories, food production and manufacturing pipework
