Fernco Drain Coupling

Fernco Drain Couplings, also known as Flexseal couplers, are efficient and straightforward connectors used primarily in unadopted or private drainage systems. They are designed to connect two pipes with the same or similar (within 10mm) outside diameter, making them ideal for connecting plain-ended pipes or for repairing existing pipe systems by replacing short sections of pipe.

The Fernco Drain Coupling is straightforward to install:

1. Positioning: Align the coupling over the ends of the two pipes to be connected.
2. Securing: Use a nut driver and torque wrench to tighten the stainless steel clamp bands around the pipes.
3. Checking: Ensure a snug fit to create an effective airtight and watertight seal.

Note on Usage: While Fernco Drain Couplings are ideal for unadopted drainage systems, they are not suitable for adopted drainage systems managed by highway agencies, water companies, or local authorities. In these cases, Fernco’s Shear Banded Couplings should be used as per WIS 4-41-01 specifications.
