How and Where to Install a Mechanical Internal Coupling
Installing the Fernco Icon Mechanical Internal Coupling involves:
Surface Preparation: Ensure the internal surfaces of the pipes are defect-free. For concrete pipes, lubricate the inside surface.
Inserting the Coupling: Place the coupling into the end of the already laid pipe, positioning the tightening device(s) correctly.
Aligning the Coupling: Push the coupling into the pipe until the bolt housing(s) and spacer brackets touch the pipe face.
Connecting the Second Pipe: Slide the second pipe over the coupling, centre and align it, and push it fully up to the spacer bracket(s) and bolt housing(s).
Securing the Connection: Tighten the bolt(s) to the specified torque of 15Nm to ensure a secure, watertight seal.
