Emery Cloth

• Use method: Hand or flexing abrasion inside sockets and on pipe surfaces
• Follow‑up: MEK cleaner + solvent cement

A thin oxide or film layer is often present on pipe surfaces and inside fitting sockets following manufacture. This layer must be removed before solvent welding, but only by light abrasion, not by chafing off material. The product offers controlled, fine abrasion to roughen the surface just enough to promote solvent adhesion without damaging wall thickness. After use, the surface should be cleaned with MEK and then joined with solvent cement. These sheets are suitable for ABS, PVCu, Corzan and Airline Xtra systems.
