Description

This polypropylene metric x imperial union fitting is designed to connect metric PP pipework to imperial-sized components while allowing straightforward disconnection for maintenance, inspection or system modification. It provides a practical solution where mixed sizing standards are present and regular access is required.

Manufactured from high heat stabilised PP-B material, the union offers excellent chemical resistance, mechanical strength and long-term reliability. The integrated EPDM O-ring ensures a secure, pressure-tight seal, while the union nut allows the joint to be separated without cutting the pipework.

Unlike permanent fusion joints, this union fitting is particularly useful in areas where valves, pumps or equipment may need to be removed or replaced, making it a popular choice in complex or serviceable installations.

Key Features & Benefits

  • 10 bar pressure rated: Suitable for pressure-rated polypropylene pipe systems
  • Metric to imperial transition: Connects mixed-size pipework and fittings with ease
  • Demountable union design: Allows simple disconnection for maintenance or upgrades
  • EPDM O-ring seal: Provides a reliable, leak-tight joint under pressure
  • PP-B construction: Improved impact resistance compared to standard homopolymer PP
  • Wide temperature capability: Performs reliably from -20°C to 120°C
  • Smooth bore: Maintains efficient flow through the joint
  • Corrosion resistant: Will not rust, scale or degrade in aggressive environments
  • Lightweight and robust: Easier handling and installation than metal unions
  • Industrial versatility: Commonly used in chemical processing, water treatment, laboratories, food production and manufacturing pipe systems
