Description

This polypropylene blanking flange is used to securely close off the end of a flanged connection within metric PP pressure pipe systems. Manufactured from high heat stabilised PP-B material, it provides a robust and chemically resistant solution for isolating pipework, valves or equipment.

The solid flange face allows the pipeline to be sealed without extending or modifying the system, making it ideal for temporary shutdowns, future expansion points or permanent termination of flanged branches. When installed with a suitable gasket and backing ring, the blanking flange delivers a stable, pressure-rated seal.

Polypropylene’s natural resistance to corrosion and aggressive chemicals ensures reliable performance in environments where metal blanking plates may deteriorate. Its lightweight construction also simplifies handling and installation, particularly on larger diameter flanges.

Key Features & Benefits

  • 10 bar pressure rating: Suitable for pressure-rated polypropylene flanged systems
  • Pipe isolation solution: Allows flanged connections to be safely sealed off
  • PP-B construction: Block copolymer material offers improved impact resistance, including at lower temperatures
  • Wide temperature capability: Performs reliably from -20°C up to 120°C in continuous service
  • Bolted flange installation: Compatible with standard NP10/16 backing rings and gaskets
  • Even sealing surface: Solid face supports effective gasket compression
  • Corrosion resistant: Will not rust, scale or degrade in aggressive chemical environments
  • Lightweight design: Easier handling and alignment compared to metal blanking flanges
  • Industrial suitability: Commonly used in chemical processing, water treatment, laboratories, food production and manufacturing pipework
