Description
This polypropylene imperial x metric reducing bush is used to step down from a larger PP fitting to a smaller connection where mixed sizing standards are present. Designed with a spigot x socket configuration, it provides a compact and efficient transition within pressure-rated polypropylene pipework systems.
Manufactured from high heat stabilised PP-B material, the reducing bush offers excellent resistance to chemicals, abrasion and mechanical stress. When installed using fusion welding, it creates a uniform, permanent joint that maintains system integrity without introducing additional fittings or unnecessary complexity.
Its smooth internal bore supports consistent flow through the reduction, while polypropylene’s inherent flexibility and durability make it suitable for demanding industrial environments where long service life is essential.
Key Features & Benefits
- 10 bar pressure rated: Suitable for pressure-bearing polypropylene installations
- Imperial to metric reduction: Allows controlled step-down between differing pipe sizes
- Compact reducing bush design: Minimises space requirements within pipe runs
- PP-B construction: Enhanced impact resistance compared to standard homopolymer PP
- Wide temperature tolerance: Performs reliably from -20°C to 120°C
- Fusion welded joint: Creates a strong, leak-resistant and permanent connection
- Smooth bore: Helps maintain efficient flow across the reduction
- Corrosion resistant: Will not rust, scale or degrade in aggressive media
- Lightweight fitting: Easier handling and installation than metal alternatives
- Industrial suitability: Commonly used in chemical processing, water treatment, laboratories, manufacturing and process engineering systems
