Useful Information

These blue hoses are designed for cold-water pressure washer use, making them perfect for wash-down tasks - from light-duty rinsing to medium or heavy-duty cleaning - in a wide range of settings. Whether you’re using a pressure washer in the home, garden, workshop or industrial site, the right length and wire reinforcement ensures you have the durability, flexibility and performance to get the job done.

Why Choose Between 1-Wire and 2-Wire Versions?

When selecting the correct hose for your needs, the number of steel-braided wires (1-wire versus 2-wire) makes a meaningful difference. Here’s how:

1-Wire (single layer steel braid):

This version uses a single layer of steel wire braid reinforcement. It tends to be more flexible, lighter, and easier to manoeuvre - making it a strong candidate for lighter duty or where tight bends or flexible routing are required. However, because it has just one braid layer, its maximum pressure and durability under harsh conditions are comparatively lower.

2-Wire (double layer steel braid):

The 2-wire version incorporates two layers of steel wire braid reinforcement. This means greater strength, higher pressure capability, better resistance to wear, and improved durability - ideal for more demanding or heavy-duty wash-down applications. The trade-off is somewhat reduced flexibility, greater hose weight and possibly a larger minimum bend radius.

Which should you choose?

  • For standard wash-down, moderate pressure settings and situations where flexibility is important (e.g., tight spaces, frequent manoeuvring), the 1-wire hose is often sufficient
  • For heavy-duty applications, higher pressure usage, industrial environments or where the hose will undergo more demanding use, the 2-wire version offers added robustness and peace of mind
  • Always ensure the hose’s rated operating pressure (from the specification) meets or exceeds the working pressure of your pressure washer system, and consider the bend radius and flexibility required for your setup
