Useful Info:
Prevost offers a complete aluminium ring main system for pneumatic applications. The PPS grip concept ensures a flawless connection with zero leaks. The benefits of their aluminium pipe system include very low-pressure loss, rustproof, UV & heat resistant and a cost-effective solution. They also offer a superior range of quick safety couplings to suit a wide range of different profile adaptors.
Please note fittings and pipe are not interchangeable with other product ranges.
Installation Instructions:
- Ensure all cuts made to the pipe are straight and the inside and outside of each edge is de-burred
- The pipe must be fully inserted into the fitting – to do this, simply mark the point using the tightening key, loosen the locking nut and with one motion twist and push the pipe into the fitting – it may help if you use a lubricated spray (non-aggressive)
- Use PTFE tape on all male threads unless a seal is supplied
- Make sure the pipe is straight and level, clamping every 3 metres and where it may be necessary to ensure a strong bind to the wall or ceiling of the building
- Tighten all fittings by hand and once the system is in place, tighten using the PPS1 CLE key and torque wrench to the following points, starting at the lower setting – for example 25mm fittings – 21-35Nm
- Once all fittings are tightened, set the compressor at 2 BAR and run for 5 minutes, then check each fitting for leaks, adjust if needed, and repeat the test at 8 BAR. Again check all and if the system is leak free, your customer is free to use the system.
