Description

This polypropylene socket fitting is designed to create a secure, permanent joint between metric polypropylene pipes in pressure-rated chemical systems. Manufactured from PP-B material, it offers a balance of strength, flexibility and chemical resistance, making it suitable for demanding industrial environments.

The socket design allows for reliable fusion welding, producing a homogeneous joint with excellent long-term integrity. Its smooth internal bore maintains flow efficiency and helps minimise pressure losses throughout the system, particularly important in process and treatment applications.

Unlike metal fittings, polypropylene sockets are immune to corrosion and scaling, reducing maintenance requirements over the lifetime of the installation. The fitting’s ductile behaviour also allows it to accommodate thermal expansion and minor movement without cracking, improving system reliability in variable operating conditions.

Key Features & Benefits

  • 10 bar pressure rating: Suitable for medium pressure polypropylene pipe systems
  • PP-B construction: Block copolymer material delivers improved impact resistance, including at lower temperatures
  • Wide temperature capability: Performs reliably from -20°C up to 120°C in continuous service
  • Fusion welded joint: Creates a strong, leak-free connection with excellent chemical resistance
  • Smooth bore profile: Supports efficient flow and reduces friction losses
  • Corrosion resistant: Will not rust, scale or degrade when exposed to aggressive media
  • Lightweight fitting: Easier handling and faster installation compared to metallic alternatives
  • Movement tolerant: Absorbs thermal expansion and system movement without compromising joint integrity
  • Broad application range: Suitable for chemical processing, laboratories, water treatment, food production and industrial pipework systems
