Description

This polypropylene union fitting is designed to join two lengths of metric PP pipe while allowing the connection to be easily disconnected when required. Manufactured from high heat stabilised PP-B material, it provides a practical solution for systems that may need future maintenance, inspection or modification.

The union consists of two fusion-welded ends connected via a central demountable section, enabling pipework to be separated without cutting or disturbing adjacent joints. This makes it particularly useful near pumps, valves or equipment where regular access is beneficial.

Polypropylene’s resistance to corrosion and chemical attack ensures long-term performance in aggressive environments where metal unions may degrade. Its ductile properties also allow the fitting to accommodate thermal expansion and system movement without compromising the integrity of the joint.

Key Features & Benefits

  • 10 bar pressure rating: Suitable for pressure-rated polypropylene pipe systems
  • Demountable connection: Allows easy disconnection for maintenance or system changes
  • PP-B construction: Block copolymer material provides improved impact resistance, including at lower temperatures
  • Wide operating temperature range: Performs reliably from -20°C to 120°C under continuous conditions
  • Fusion welded ends: Creates strong, permanent pipe connections either side of the union
  • Smooth bore design: Maintains flow efficiency through the joint
  • Corrosion resistant: Will not rust, scale or chemically degrade in aggressive applications
  • Lightweight fitting: Easier handling and installation compared to metal unions
  • Industrial versatility: Commonly used in chemical processing, laboratories, water treatment, food production and manufacturing pipework
