Description
This polypropylene stub flange is used to create a bolted flange connection within metric PP pressure pipe systems. Manufactured from high heat stabilised PP-B material, it allows polypropylene pipework to be securely joined using a backing ring and gasket arrangement while maintaining chemical resistance and pressure integrity.
The stub flange is fusion welded onto the pipe end, forming a permanent connection, while the backing ring remains free to rotate. This design simplifies alignment during installation and allows the joint to be dismantled when required, making it ideal for connections to valves, pumps and equipment.
Polypropylene’s resistance to corrosion and aggressive chemicals ensures reliable long-term performance in industrial environments where metal flanges may deteriorate. Its ductile properties also help absorb thermal expansion and mechanical stress, supporting system longevity and operational safety.
Key Features & Benefits
- 10 bar pressure rating: Suitable for pressure-rated polypropylene pipe systems
- Flanged connection capability: Enables bolted joints for valves, equipment and removable sections
- PP-B construction: Block copolymer material offers improved impact resistance, particularly at lower temperatures
- Wide temperature performance: Operates reliably from -20°C up to 120°C in continuous service
- Fusion welded pipe joint: Creates a strong, permanent connection to the pipe
- Rotating backing ring: Simplifies bolt alignment and installation
- Smooth bore design: Maintains efficient flow through the flange connection
- Corrosion resistant: Will not rust, scale or degrade in aggressive chemical environments
- Industrial suitability: Commonly used in chemical processing, laboratories, water treatment, food production and manufacturing pipework
