Why Use Emery Cloths?

During the process of manufacture a thin layer of film is on the surface of the ABS Pipe and in the sockets of the ABS Fittings and ABS Valves. This has to be removed during assembly and the best way of achieving this is through lightly abrading the surface layer on the ABS Pipe and in the socket of the ABS Pipe Fittings and ABS Valves. The Object is not to remove material but only to roughen up the surface. Then apply ABS MEK Cleaner followed by the ABS Solvent Cement.
